Blue Themes Soltec Joint Venture (BTS JV) is a Joint Venture between Blue Themes Energy (Pty) Ltd and SolTec Solar Technology (Pty) Ltd to undertake to deliver a fully functional, 300MW photovoltaic (PV + 300MW Storage) power plant in the vicinity of Maltahohe, Hardap Region, Namibia (the “Marion Reitz Solar Park (MRSP)”) that can be safely operated and maintained, as well as the facilities for the connection thereof to the point of interconnection with a 220kV connection to the NamPower electricity transmission grid and the related site facilities.

The proposed energy infrastructure development project; Marion Reitz Solar Park (MRSP), aims to generate and trade electricity on the regional Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) market and the national Modified Single Buyer (MSB) market. In the long-term it is intended to become a fully functioning clean energy industrial zone. Blue Themes Soltec JV being an Independent Power Producer (IPP) developer, will arrange all the necessary financing, insurance, authorisations, engineering, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance requirements for the MRSP.
